Sail across the Aegean Sea and explore the Greek Islands of your choice aboard your personal sailboat. We offer you a great selection of sailboats, with or without a crew, with departures from many ports of Greece; our points of embarkation are situated in Athens and in the islands of Samos, Corfu, Skiatos, Kos, Naxos, Syros and Rhodes.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AND PROCEDURE FOR RESERVATION.

Two members of your group must have in hand proof of their navigational experience for sailing at the moment of reservation with Preference Vacations as well as at the moment of embarkation of your sailboat in Greece.

The Greek authorities will demand a verification of your documents before taking possession of the boat.

A security deposit is required payable to our local agent by traveller’s cheques or cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your contract with certain conditions: no damage or loss of the sailboat, the boat must be returned with a full tank of fuel and it must be in the same state or condition of embarkation.

Upon reception of your deposit a navigational card as well as an inventory of equipment will be submitted to you. A list of the crew and an order form (drinks and food) will be given to you upon request only. If you decide to buy your provisions before departure, the amount due is payable before departure.

You must present yourself at the marina at 12:00 the day of embarkation. You will have an orientation session (about 2 hours) by a professional. The departure for your cruise is scheduled for approximately 17:00. The return to your port of departure is expected to be one day before the end of your contract. You may sleep aboard your sailboat on your last night. An inspection of your boat will be done at 09:00 the last day of your rental.

If you choose not to have the services of a Captain, one member of your group must have proof of navigational experience on a sailboat, and must act as a member of the crew in case of an emergency. The security deposit is always required even with the services of a Captain.

The duration of the rental contract is of a minimum of 7 days starting on Saturday and terminating on Saturday.

The services of a Captain are offered to clients who are not familiar navigating the Greek seas.

RESERVATIONS

A deposit of 50% (non refundable) is required within 4 days upon confirmation of your reservation. The final payment is due 30 days before your departure.

The port taxes are payable at any Greek authority bureau.

One way rentals are possible for rentals that are more than 2 weeks. For a rental less than 2 weeks you may contact us for the rate.

At the end of your cruise (return to port of origin) a cleaning fee for the sailboat will be issued, payable to our agents locally. The cleaning fee varies according to the model of sailboat. (From $80.00 to $160.00)

The services of a Captain are offered to clients who are not familiar navigating the Greek seas.
